MARKETING SECRETS

Marketing is all about networking, Networking is all about promoting the popularity of your
business to potential & non potential customers. The pillar of any organisation is the marketing department, a successful business owes 80% of its fortune to its level/degree of marketing. A company might stand out in its own capacity or niche and yet not be the choice of the masses, while another which invested more in strategic marketing gets the torch lifted up. A perfect example of in Nigeria is the brand of the Dufil group is "indomie". For a long time, i thought all noodles were generally called "indomie", it became a song on the lips of many kids. Today, i'm going to give you some key elements of marketing/networking after proper research, and understanding of the Nigerian market, and provide you with tips to get your business ahead.

Developing awareness

It is difficult for a potential client to buy your product or service if they don’t even know or remember it exists. Generally a potential customer will have to be exposed to your product 5 to 15 times before they are likely to think of your product when the need arises. Needs often arise unexpectedly. You must stay in front of your

clients consistently if they are going to remember your product when that need arises.

Brand Uniqueness

Marketing is presenting your business to potential customers in a way that it forms a base in their psychology. The uniqueness in question here could be your brand name, logo, system/way & manner of service, in adding something new to compare with other similarly existing businesses, product uniqueness, et cetera. If you want to be differentiated out there, you' ve just got to be unique in something.

Innovation

Be innovative! Be innovative! Be innovative!. The spicing does the job. People like new products, packages, something that deviates frim the normal trend. Innovative people & organisations kbow how to catch the market with a bait on the hook, and attract customers. Take for instance, a practical example; You' re running a laundry business, you can add a scent (pleasant, minid you; after consulting with a number of people) to the clothes. They are not many in town that add such spicing to their service, hence directing some credibility to your laundry business.

Consistency

Be consistent in every way and in everything you do. This includes the look of your collateral materials, the message you deliver, the level of customer service, your innovation and the quality of the product. Being consistent is more important than having the “best” product. This in part is the reason for the success of chains.

Find a niche

Is there a market segment that is not currently being served or is not being served well? A niche strategy allows you to focus your marketing efforts and dominate your market, even if you are a small player.

Building credibility

Not only must clients be aware of your product or service, they also must have a positive disposition toward it. Potential customers must trust that you will deliver what you say you will. Often, especially with large or risky purchases, you need to give them the opportunity to “sample”, “touch”, or “taste” the product in some way. For example, a trainer might gain credibility and allow potential customers to “sample” their product by offering free, hour long presentations on topics related to their area of specialty.
